Beautiful thank you notes on engraved stationery are gone, but the thank you emails and IMs survive,
New ways to give thanks, even in thoughts, can show our gratitude.
Along with thank yous at the grocery store shouted through our masks.
New ways to give thanks, even in thoughts, can show our gratitude.
Thank you for my big house, where I now have the refuge of private space.
Thank you for the patience to cope with struggles in this unrewarding year.
Thank you for extra resilience when others don’t say thank you.
Thank you to the universe on behalf of all who have survived into 2021.
Will we hear “You’re welcome” sometime soon?

Thank you for reminding us of all the things we have to be grateful for, going into 2021, and “you’re welcome” (I’m the universe, responding).
And thank you, Betsy.
Much obliged, ma’am, for calling my attention to the many ways of expressing one’s gratitude.
Glad it was a useful reminder, Dale.
Mare, our stories have a similarity. I think “thank you” and “you’re welcome” are often tacit and we just have to keep our eyes (and minds) open to recognize them. The universe is subtle that way.
Maybe it can be more how we act and think, Barb, in case we can’t or don’t say those words. Looking forward to reading your story.
